Black box discounts for Learners and New drivers
Learning to drive doesn’t stop once the P-plates are off. With a young driver black box policy, your learner will have a co-pilot in their pocket, helping them stay on track with regular, personalised feedback on their driving.

- Driving coaches on hand to step-in with practical advice on how to improve
- They’ll be able to start building their own No Claims Discount, as well as earning discounts 3 times a year*

How your learner can practise in your car
Choose how long
From 1-6 months, your learner can decide how many months of cover they’d like on your car, then they can add more time if they need it before test day.
Get a quote on the practice car
Quotes start from £1.49 a day* so they can make the most of their practice time without worrying about the cost.
Call when you pass
Stop as a learner, start as a new driver! As soon as they pass, they can give us a call and we’ll do the maths to swap them onto a Young driver policy for their own car.

How Black Box Learner and New driver insurance works in their own car
Fit the black box
We’ll either arrange for an engineer to come out or we’ll send a black box in the post which the learner can fit to their car themselves.
Driving feedback every 10 days
While they’re learning to drive, we’ll send regular driving feedback via the ingenie app, so they can see where they’re driving well and the areas to improve.
Earn up to 21% back
A learner could earn up to 21% back on their insurance with us throughout the year - just for driving how their instructor taught them!
*If the learner is driving more than they estimated, they’ll need to call us to buy top up miles. If they drive over their mileage allowance their insurance could be cancelled.
