It's gold, basically.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>But you need insurance.<\/p>\r\n\t\r\n\r\n<h2>3 ways to get insured as a learner driver<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"numbered-large\">\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\t<h3>Buy your own car<\/h3>\r\n\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t<p>Yeeeesh. It's a lot of money while you're still shelling out for driving lessons but it might be a good investment in the long run. <\/p>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t<div class=\"row row-fluid\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"col-3-5\">\r\n\t\t<h4>Pros:<\/h4>\r\n\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t<li>You'll get used to the car you'll be driving once you've passed<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li>You'll start building up your No Claims Discount<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>You'll be able to practise as much as you want, as long as you have a keen practice buddy<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<div class=\"col-2-5\">\r\n\t\r\n\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/01\/COST.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"341\">\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<h4>Cons:<\/h4>\r\n\t\r\n\t<ul>\r\n\t\t<li>The cost of a car, full insurance, maintenance, petrol...<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>You'll be paying for a full insurance policy but only practising as often as you can beg someone to supervise you<\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>If you have a bump while you're learning, the amount you pay towards a claim (the excess) may be high because you're inexperienced<\/li>\r\n\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\r\n\t<blockquote class=\"margin-bottom-20\">Find out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ingenie.com\/young-drivers-guide\/how-to-buy-a-used-car-when-you-only-have-a-provisional-licence\">how to buy your first car with your provisional licence<\/a>.<\/blockquote>\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<h3>Get added to your parents' insurance<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\r\n\t<div class=\"row row-fluid\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"col-2-3\">\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<h4>Pros:<\/h4>\r\n\t\r\n\t<ul>\r\n\t\t<li>It's all on them; you don't have to do the organising or deal with any admin<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>They're quite likely to be paying for the petrol!<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<div class=\"col-1-3\">\r\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/10\/Dad-car-540x334.png\" alt=\"Dad car\" width=\"400\" height=\"\">\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<h4>Cons:<\/h4>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li>It can cost more than having your own learner insurance<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li>If you have an...incident...the car owner will lose their NCD and their insurance will go up<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li>You're not earning your own NCD<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\r\n\t\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<h3>Get your own learner insurance (on someone else's car)<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\r\n\t<div class=\"row row-fluid\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"col-3-5\">\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<h4>Pros:<\/h4>\r\n\t\r\n\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t<li>The car owner won't lose their NCD if you have a bump (awkward conversations avoided) <\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>It's flexible; so you can choose how long you need cover for and buy more time if you need<\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>You'll usually have a lower compulsory excess<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<div class=\"col-2-5\">\r\n\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/10\/car_bubble_learner-1.png\" alt=\"Car in a bubble\" width=\"400\" height=\"373\">\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<h4>Cons:<\/h4>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li>The policy will be in your name so you'll be sorting the admin here and there<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li>You won't be earning your own NCD<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\r\n<\/ol>\t\r\n\r\n<div class=\"container-border text-center margin-top-20 margin-bottom-20\"><h4>So much info right?
